I don't understand the reasonings posted for objecting buying from a dealer. I have bought 8-10 used cars in my lifetime, including my Z and all have been bought from a the brand dealership - no problems to date. It all depends on how much homework you're willing to do and your tolerance for negotiating. The one thing the dealer will give you is some kind of warranty - never buy a used car without any warranty. If you can find an independent seller who offers warranty, then do it. Otherwise, stay with a seller that will give you some kind of warranty. The Z is a pretty fun car to drive. Getting it used, you have no idea how the previous owner treated the car - don't judge by exterior appearance! You could end up with a lemon before you know it. Stay with a seller who will provide you some kind of warranty!
